Privacy

Subscriber data will only be used for the purposes of sending newsletter emails solely from this website (www.iainfmacleod.com) from which you can unsubscribe at any time.

I would recommend using a unique password for your account. One of the most common security risks is when there is a data breach at a large organisation (such as happened at Dropbox or Facebook) and your data is sold online for hackers to try your credentials at other sites.

Here is a website which shows the latest large data breaches and you can also see if your email has previously been compromised in a data breach - https://haveibeenpwned.com

I use Ghost Pro to host this website, and therefore it is hosted on their servers and data is hosted in the EU. On the Ghost website you can find out how Ghost complies with GDRP:

GDPR Compliance - Ghost - FAQ
We act as both a data processor and a data controller under the GDPR. Read more about GDPR compliance at Ghost.

Other companies which use the Ghost blogging platform are DuckDuckGo, OpenAI and Duolingo.

I don't like things popping up, intricate cookie choices, Google Adwords or pretty much most of the modern hellscape that is visiting websites. So I'm not inflicting them on you either.

I will link in this section to useful resources related to online security.
