Iain Finlay has a great deal of experience in the world of film & television. He has won a number of awards for his work as a director and writer.
More recently, he was one of the writers on the Gaelic Feature Film “Seachd - The Innaccessible Pinnacle”. This film was nominated for two Baftas, Best Screenplay and Best Film.
He has worked as a script doctor on a number of other projects, both drama and documentary. He is currently developing a film with Chris Young of Young Films.
Iain Finlay has worked extensively on documentaries - as a writer and director.
He has written scripts for different genres, from Current Affairs to Childrens’, from Arts documentary to Entertainment.
He has written a number of proposals for different companies which have been commissioned for television.
DIRECTING
Iain Finlay started directing documentaries in 1997 and has won many awards for his work.
He has been a director on teams which have won a Bafta, Celtic Film Festival Best Documentary, and Best Entertainment Programme, Innovation Award at the Kendall Mountain Festival and Writers’ Guild Award.
He has filmed in many challenging environments and has travelled extensively - filming in Kosovo, Polynesia, the US and Canada, the UK and in many European Countries.
He was Managing Director of Zebo Productions Ltd for two years. He has experience of producing and has, at one time or an other, done most jobs - from runner to Floor Manager.
